Saturday, September 5 At 15:30, David Rycroft leads a workshop on exploring emotions through abstract design.
At 17:00, Damien Brohon will lecture on how art allows us to be emotionally intelligent.
We all have emotions – but have we ever given attention to exploring them? This exhibition of paintings invites us to connect with our own emotional life and see how emotions colour perception. Rather than judging emotions as good or bad, the artists question how we can ride with these powerful forces. Do we have to be stuck in an emotion or can we see it as an expression of fundamental creativity? And what happens when emotions are liberated from the grip of selfcentredness? Painting – both creating and viewing – offers us a key to emotional intelligence: Can we become friends with these 'beautiful monsters' and discover their source the treasure of being fully alive? The Private View sill be hosted by two Monte dei Fiori founding artists, Damien Brohon and David Rycroft. Damien will deliver a talk on how art helps us to become more emotionally intelligent. David will facilitate a workshop exploring emotions through abstract sketches. |
